This Shower Was Completely Transformed after a Grout Cleaning Service in Fort Worth, Texas
May 22, 2017
A homeowner from Fort Worth, Texas noticed his shower gradually deteriorating. The tiles started to look odd and had a sticky layer of residue on top, and then the tiles and grout became stained. After a while, the grout started to break and fall off. That's when he decided to call Sir Grout Dallas Fort Worth. He had learned from a coworker that this company did excellent grout cleaning work in Fort Worth and other locations in Texas. He only hoped that we could help him fix his shower. Before calling, he did a quick Google search and found our website. After reading some reviews and realizing he could book an appointment for us to do a free in-home evaluation and cost estimation, he didn't hesitate to call.On the day of the evaluation, our hard surface restoration specialists inspected the shower, determining that a grout cleaning was not the only thing this shower needed. In fact, the grout deterioration had become so bad that the client covered them with duct tape. We explained to the homeowner that a shower in this state is extremely dangerous, as water can seep behind the tiles and damage the structure of the house and could potentially become a breeding ground for microorganisms. In order to fix this problem, our team needed to repair the grout and seal it to guarantee that water would not seep through to the home's foundations. We offered an estimate for the entire job and set a date to do it.
On the agreed date, we arrived at our client's home early in the morning to start the job. First, we applied our proprietary tile and grout cleaner and let it soak on the surface for a while. Then, we used a gentle scrubber to remove all the dirt, mold and mildew, and soap scum that had built up on the tiles and grout. After that, we used a steam cleaning machine to work on removing the most stubborn dirt. Once we had deeply cleaned the entire shower, we proceeded to check for damages on the grout and repair them as needed. Some of the damages were pretty obvious, as you can see from the photo, but other spots were only visible after we cleaned the area. When all areas were repaired, we ColorSealed the grout to even out the color and protect it from future staining. We then proceeded to buff Tile Armor onto the entire surface to seal the tiles and add extra protection to grout. Tile Armor is our proprietary clear sealant, it makes the surfaces easier to clean and it protects them from stains and spills.
Once we finished, we explained to the client how to take proper care of his shower to prevent it from returning to the ruined state again. One of the first and most important things we recommended after performing this type of service is the use of soap-less, pH-neutral cleaners. Additionally, we told him to keep the bathroom well-ventilated to prevent stagnant water that fosters mold, mildew, and other fungi, and to go to our tile and grout care tips page to learn more about the dos and don'ts of tile and grout care and maintenance.
